Safe Water for Sierra Leone
Safe Water for Sierra Leone is a faith-based, non-profit humanitarian organization dedicated to serving all people regardless of religion, race, ethnicity, or gender. With the support of sponsors, donors, partners and volunteers, we work to bring relief to vulnerable and underserved communities across Sierra Leone and neighboring regions.
Beyond providing sustainable water systems, we have expanded our impact through the Safe Water Medical Center and Nursing School, connecting clean water access with quality healthcare and professional training. By addressing water, health, and education together, we create long-term, sustainable solutions that strengthen communities and promote lasting well-being.
Our mission is to provide communities with safe, reliable drinking water while improving health outcomes and expanding healthcare education. We believe safe water is essential to protecting lives, preventing disease, and creating a foundation for stronger, healthier communities.
History About Us
Safe Water for Sierra Leone was founded to meet a critical need—providing safe drinking water to communities severely impacted by disease outbreaks and poor sanitation.
Following the devastating 2012 cholera outbreak and the 2014–2016 Ebola epidemic, which exposed the vulnerability of rural and underserved communities, our mission expanded beyond water access. We are committed to delivering clean water solutions alongside healthcare support, education, and life-changing opportunities.
Since our founding, we have worked to reduce water-related diseases, strengthen public health, and empower families. By integrating safe water, healthcare services, and community development, we strive to build healthier, stronger, and more resilient communities across Sierra Leone.
